Holly Coad, Occupational Therapist, Specialist Hand Therapist
Holly received her B.Sc.O.T. qualification
in 1997 from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. She is registered with Health Care and Professionals
Council (OT 46492) and a member of the British Association of Hand Therapists
as well as the British Association of Occupational Therapists. She has provided hand therapy services both
in the USA and in the UK for the past 12 years.
She works with patients with many different types of hand, wrist, elbow
and shoulder problems, managing acute as well as chronic problems, providing
conservative treatment as well as dealing with post-operative care. She works closely with several noted
orthopaedic and plastics consultants in the Northwest area. She is active in researching the latest
evidence as it relates to practice in upper limb rehabilitation and in
providing training to other clinicians.
She is proficient in all aspects of assessment and treatment modalities
including custom splinting, soft tissue release, joint mobilisation, wound care, kineseotaping, and oedema management. She has experience treating a wide variety of diagnoses including carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's contracture, DeQuervain's tenosynovitis, wrist sprain/strain, repetitive stress injury, fractures, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis and complex cases including
CRPS and dystonia.
